Licensed Medical Practitioners seeking CMEs through ACCME
Unfortunately, no. We repeatedly asked this very question as we were moving through the process. Unfortunately, educational activities (like our semester programs) must be certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ before students begin participating in the activity (semester programs). This is an overarching CME policy.
In 2020, we will be working diligently to achieve CME qualification for our individual Deep Dive Clinical Courses (DDCC) and our AFMC Recertification process. These developments would allow our students who have already passed one or both AFMC exams an opportunity to earn CME units for their continued SAFM studies.
National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches seeking CEs through NBHWC
Yes, as long your SAFM course or certification work was completed and documented after the date of your initial board certification and within the required 3-year recertification window. Please consult the NBHWC Recertification Handbook or the NBHWC team at https://nbhwc.org/ for details regarding your personal situation. SAFM’s NBHWC CEP Number is 100159.
