The curriculum requires students to complete the Core 101 Semester prior to enrolling in Advanced 202. The Core 101 semester teaches many concepts not available in other FM programs. An example of this is the SAFM Client Map - a tool referenced in many SAFM courses and case studies. Proficiency with the SAFM Map is a big part of the Core 101 curriculum.
In addition, Advanced 202 Courses often reference content only available in their 101 counterparts (e.g. Lab work 202 and Lab work 101), etc... And lastly, the Core 101 semester socializes the students to the SAFM "lingo" - the school's unique way of engaging with the world of Functional Medicine.
